Deal Breakers

So you've met someone and put them on your dating short list. What quality, quirk, or lifestyle choice will cause you to bolt?

I'll start:

1. Sarcasm/Entrenched cynicism: I read this as weakness and meanness. Hello, instant turn-off.
2. Narcissicism: Flee!
3. Hopeless Indecision: I've no patience for wishy-washiness.
4. Rigid Adherence to Status Quo: There's a whole rainbow--forget beige.
5. Droopy, Mopey, Perpetually Gloomy Sad Sack: Oy, vey. Lifeforce-sucker.

I'm absolutely dying to hear yours--please share!

P.S. Needless to say, really, Superfly ain't none of that.

A couple of my biggest ones:

1. Conceitedness

2. Rudeness-especially to the waiters or waitresses.

3. Complainer-complaining about anything and everything-drives me crazy.

I think that's it. This is an awesome post!! I can't wait to read what others have to say.

here are my standards:

who am i kidding? i have no standards.

well, not quite. don't lie, don't cheat. take care of yourself (mind, heart, body, life). have good relationships with your family and friends. have respect for yourself. show me you love me, but don't give more than i do and vice versa--meet me halfway. a good balance between silly and serious is a turn on. be laid-back, but not to the point that you just don't care about anything. anal retentive? NEXT. OCD? NEXT. Bad temper? NEXT. Basically, if you're fun, openminded, sexy, sweet, relaxed, passionate and balanced, you're for me!

1. Doesn't like to read - how weird is that? Who doesn't like to read? I've met some of these!
2. Hates your friends
3. Arrogance
4. Makes fun of fat people
5. Is religious (no matter what the religion is, I just can't date someone for whom religion is a priority)
6. Will ONLY go to fancy big-name restaurants or $20-per-drink lounges
7. Has ever cheated on a girlfriend before - the ultimate sign that he doesn't care about other people's feelings
8. Not funny

Yowza, already up to 8! I'm stopping here.

These are great responses! Rackie, the rudeness thing is right on.
Bobulah, it will never work with us, I'm sorry. Too many rules!
TK, an inspired list. Doesn't read? Sacre bleu!

If you can't appreciate my sense of humor, that's it.

My sense of humor is a mechanism that has helped me cope throughout my life and is an integral part of my well being.

(It's ok for a woman not to like The Three Stooges. I can compromise.)
